Cash on Delivery, also known as C.O.D, is one of the top country bands in both The Netherlands and mainland Europe. Founded in 1996, the following line up has been in place since 1998:

Jacqueline van der Griend : Lead vocals, guitar and mandolin
Wim van der Vliert : Lead vocals, electric and acoustic guitar
Ad Welten : Bass and backing vocals
Loek van Heijster : Drums and backing vocals
Johan Jansen : Steelguitar

The band is regularly booked as the lead act in various large European festivals and during the annual Dutch Country Award Gala, C.O.D won countless top awards, including:

Singer of the year, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
Instrumentalist of the year, Johan Jansen 2004
Band of the year, 2003, 2004 and 2005
Country song of the year, 1997 and 2003
Album of the year, 2003
Country duo of the year, 2005

In between, they have released a number of albums including. ‘Looking for Credit” which was released in 2000, the majority of which was recorded live in the KRO studio, as well as a bonus studio CD including a cover of a Heather Myles song, ‘Love me a little bit longer’ plus the track ‘No more you’ written by Ad Welten, was awarded a Gramm Award.

The second album, ‘Deliverance’ was released in 2002, containing only original compositions and was promptly chosen as Country Album of the year in 2003 during the aforementioned award gala.

The latest album ‘Echo’s of Leaving’ released in 2007, contains 12 original tracks, plus 3 classics: ‘Jolene’, ‘She thinks I still care’, and ‘That’s the way love goes’.

Pop, Blues, Folk and Jazz influences are successfully combined by composers Welten, van de Vliert and van der Griend who deliver an excellent, multi-faceted album, released all over Europe under the Rounder Europe label (including, among others, Allison Kraus)

Reaction to the CD’s from Cash on Delivery has been excellent, but it is their live performances that really demonstrate their true quality. In addition to their own songs, they play a variety of covers of classic country tracks from stars including Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, George Jones, Emmylou Harris, Tammy Wynette, as well as current country artists such as Vince Gill, Allison Kraus and Lee Roy Parnell.

The passion, professionalism as well as a fabulous atmosphere on stage, make every show a fantastic success.

Alongside the live shows and CD’s, various band members have enjoyed successful solo careers. Jacqueline has released her solo album, steelguitar player Johan is very much in demand as a session musician and has also released two solo albums; Ad has developed into a successful songwriter and session musician., whilst Wim and Jacqueline perform regularly as an acoustic duo and are regularly nominated at the Dutch County Award Gala, an award which they have won on several occasions.

It is clear that this is a very talented group of musicians, who have achieved a lot of success in a short space of time. The future looks very bright for this top group!
